(Kunafa) the Saudi Arabian dessert that you will want to keep to yourself!! 🎆✨😋


 Kunafa is one of the most simplest desserts to make in Saudi Arabia It is my favorite!! I really don't have any words to describe how wonderful it is. the flavors and textures in it is unique and absolutely delightful. I mean lets think about it!  You get it out of the oven, It's all nice and hot. Then take a bite and taste the crunchy shredded phyllo dough on the top and the bottom and then when you reach the center it is full of creamy goodness and not to mention fresh homemade syrup on top!! Ahhh... Come on now!! FYI whoever is planning on making this please feel free to send me some or invite me over!! lol I know I sound pitiful right now. But I kid you not, once you taste it yourself,  Your gonna be acting a fool like me. asking people to share with you this heavenly dessert!! lol Jk 😂😅😋😉 Anyway lets get to business shall we?  



                       do you see the crispy phyllo dough with the creamy stuffing in the middle?



                                   This is what shredded phyllo dough looks like.

                This is the cream that you put in the middle of the two layer shredded philo dough.



                                          Chopped or crushed Pistachio for garnish


 INGREDIENTS:

   Preheat oven 356 F/180C

 3 salted sticks of  butter

2  Puck pure and natural cream

3 Tbsp ricotta cheese

1 16 OZ of shredded phyllo dough ( Kataifi)


for syrup

1 Cup of white sugar
1/2 cup of water 
1 tsp lemon juice

make sure to make the syrup right away.
put all content together and let cook till its time to serve the kunafa


 DIRECTIONS:





             1.  Pour melted butter on the phyllo dough that you have shredded and blend in completely
             2.  Divide the shredded phyllo dough into two equally quantity  



               3. Put the first half of phyllo dough in a baking pan as seen in image and pat down 
               4. Add ricotta cheese on top and spread out 
               5. Open puck cream and spread on top of the ricotta cheese
               6. If you like you can also slice a Bananas (We some times put that on top of the cream
                before putting second layer of the phyllo dough
               7. Cook for 30 min or until golden
               8. Take kunafa out and pour syrup on top
               9. Garnish with chopped or crushed pistachios
